Pros: Makes A Great Gift, makes you think differently which is a good.
This was an enjoyable and challenging card game that held my interest for the entire vacation. My cousin from England introduced me to the game and now that I am home, have the cards in hand, I am looking for people to play with! I simply could not get enough of the game, though we played it almost every evening.

Excellent Card Game

Date:September 10, 2013
Pros: High Quality Materials
This game, while frustrating, is very enjoyable. We played it in Indiana and purchased it for our use in South Carolina. Everyone that plays Wizard with us enjoys it. It's just a regular deck with 8 extra cards but what a difference 8 can make.

Good, fun game

Date:June 14, 2012
Pros: variable number of players
Cons: non-standard mechanics
Wizard is a fun game to take a break from the traditional trick-taking trump games like Spades and Bridge. And, the write-up has an error in it. It is a *60* card deck, not a 6-card deck. This allows the same mechanics (and same last round, all cards dealt with no trump suit) to be used with 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 players, although 2 is not really recommended. The addition of the Wizard and Jester cards can really affect one's play: the ace of trump isn't guaranteed to win a trick, and leading a two doesn't always loose a trick. Additionally, loosing points for overtricks as well as undertricks causes one to be sharp while playing: Having that mid-level card take a trick you thought it wouldn't requires making a high card loose. The game play is similar enough to other trick-taking trump games to require little explanation, but the first few times one plays expect to get tripped up with the non-standard cards. Overall, a good game, and the small size, ease of explanation to those familiar with most card games, and being able to have anywhere from 3-6 players makes it an excellent item to bring to most parties.

Thanks for catching the mistake in our description! It is a 60 card deck, sorry for any confusion.

Wizard

Date:November 14, 2011
Pros: Makes A Great Gift, High Quality Materials, an exciting card game
Wizard is a game of chance but with practice one does develop skills that make the game exciting and addictive. I'd recommend it to all who enjoy card games.
