Butterflies are arguably the most dazzling creatures on earth. That humble larva should undergo metamorphosis into such an exquisite flyer is still one of the most fascinating phenomena in the animal world. Its beauty is fleeting, however, as the butterfly's lifetime is brief. The up-close images in

Beautiful calendar

Date:April 24, 2014
Pros: Makes A Great Gift, High Quality Materials
The photos of the butterflies are beautiful, and the quality of the paper is excellent. I enjoyed having a small photo of a second butterfly each month.

Vibrant Colors

Date:January 25, 2014
Pros: Makes A Great Gift, High Quality Materials, lots of room for notes
I really like this calendar. Butterflies have a special meaning to me as they remind me of my mom who passed away several years ago. This calendar captures them beautifully. I will be looking to purchase one again for next year.

Not very natural

Date:October 24, 2012
At least one and possibly two of the images are of dead butterflies posed on plants. For June the butterfly even has a smashed right eye and no visible legs. Three images are of butterflies on bromeliad leaves, possibly because the photos were all taken in a butterfly house. March and July have the same butterfly species. The WWF stands for living animals in natural environments, so why do they offer dead or posed species in unnatural habitats? There are an abundance of butterfly photographers taking superb images of living species in their natural habitats who would be happy to donate images to a good conservation cause, but year after year WWF buys stock photos from agencies. Instead, I recommend the 2013 calendars by Firefly Books, BrownTrout Publishers, or Audubon.
