Puzzles are great, lay-out and spiral not so great

Date:August 13, 2014
Pros: all nyt crossword puzzles
Cons: poor construction
You can't beat the NYT's Sunday crosswords and having a book full of them is great! I do wish that all of the clues were on the same page with the puzzle. I tend told fold the book over instead of keeping it flat (I carry it around with me on the bus, cafes, etc.) and find that I need to flip it back and forth which is a pain. Years ago there was a NYT puzzle book with everything on one page and it was much more convenient to use! I can live with the new format tho - I've got my puzzles and that's what I'm happy about! I do have a complaint about the spiral binding. Pages are already coming lose from the binding which is not staying intact, and I've only had the book a few weeks.. I highly doubt it will last a year. It may have something to do with the way I fold the book, but I suspect it is more due to the thickness of the cover pages and that the coils are not tight enough. I'm not having this problem with a similar book I ordered that has a slightly different spiral/coil

Excellent challenge for the week

Date:January 11, 2014
Pros: Makes A Great Gift, High Quality Materials
I purchased my second year of this book. It provides a good challenge without making me feel stupid. The clues are witty, not just straight trivia. I love the Sunday NY Times puzzles.

relieves boredom

Date:December 7, 2012
Pros: Makes A Great Gift, High Quality Materials, makes an ever better gift for yourself
Cons: none
I received one of these many years ago as a gift and have been hooked ever since. Now I buy one for myself every year as I deserve it. I only wish I had a new puzzle every day. It's difficult not to work ahead, but to savor just one puzzle a week.

Order received damaged

Date:December 4, 2012
Pros: product was as described.
Cons: arrived damaged
I selected the calendars because they were exactly what I wanted to give as gifts. I was greatly disappointed that one arrived damaged. I will not be able to give the gift.
