Since I've read Stanley Coren's other books about dog intelligence, I thought I'd enjoy his memoir. I did like the book, but wonder if his marriage survived its publication. His wife comes across as a very unsympathetic--okay, unlikable--person in it. That marred the book for me, especially since the star was a terrier that she consistently hated. I wanted to kick her in the shins all the way through. Coren may be an expert when it comes to dogs, but he's clearly not that smart about women.
